VFM Profiles will now be provided by the LGA
The VFM Profiles currently maintained by PSAA will now be provided via a new tool created by the LGA, called LG Inform VfM.
The data and analysis previously available in the profiles have been transferred to the LG Inform suite of tools, and the LG Inform team will now be maintaining and updating the VFM Profiles. This means the profiles are available as part of a wider suite of data and analysis, and will no longer rely on legacy systems previously developed by the Audit Commission. The new site is available from the following link: http://vfm.lginform.local.gov.uk/.
The existing PSAA profiles site will continue to be available until December 2017, but the data will not be updated.
The Value for Money (VFM) profiles bring together data about the costs, performance and activity of local councils and fire and rescue authorities. The data is displayed under sections that give an overview of a selected organisation and the services it delivers.
You can select sections using the reports menu or by using links within the tables to drill into the profiles and find more details about a particular theme. You can also export data at various points within the site. Using the profiles you can see;:
- how an organisation is spending its resources, and how well services perform;
- how the costs and performance of an organisation compare to others;
- how the costs and performance of an organisation compare across years;
- the latest planned budgets for councils; and
- outlier reporting.
The VFM profiles use data supplied by councils and fire and rescue authorities. They can be used by anyone who has an interest in local public services including service users and residents.
