PSAA appoints new Board Members

PSAA is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board members.

Fraser McKinlay joined the Board on 1 February 2022 and brings deep knowledge of public audit to the Board having worked for Audit Scotland from 2005 to 2021 in senior roles including Controller of Audit and Director of Performance Audit and Best Value. Fraser now runs his own consultancy business based near Edinburgh.

Mike O’Donnell will join the Board on 1 April 2022. He will bring a wealth of local government finance experience to the Board. Mike is currently Chief Executive of the London Local Government Pension Scheme CIV Ltd, the pension pool for London boroughs and the City of London, and a widely respected former senior finance officer in Local Government including terms as Director of Finance at Swindon and Executive Director for Corporate Services at the London Borough of Camden.

Fraser and Mike have been appointed to vacancies arising from the retirements of two founding members of the PSAA Board, Stephen Sellers, who stepped down on 31 January, and Caroline Gardner, who leaves the Board on 31 March.

Steve Freer, chair of the Board said:

We are delighted to announce the appointment of two such high calibre Board Members. Fraser and Mike bring highly relevant knowledge and expertise to PSAA as we continue our work with partners to try to help build a more stable and sustainable local audit system.

Stephen and Caroline have each served for more than seven years and have made outstanding contributions to the development of PSAA since its inception. We are tremendously grateful for the key roles which they have played in helping to guide the company through a period of significant challenge and uncertainty in local audit. We wish them every success in the future.”
