In accordance with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Local Audit (Appointing Person) Regulations 2015 (the Regulations), on 27 October 2016 PSAA formally invited all eligible bodies to opt into the national scheme for the five consecutive financial years commencing 1 April 2018 which covers the audit years 2018/2019 to 2022/2023. Bodies had until 9 March 2017 to respond.
We produced an overview of the appointing person scheme 2018/19 to 2022/23 which outlines the nature and scope of the appointing person’s responsibilities and explains why PSAA was well suited to take on this role and our arrangements to ensure that the role delivers significant, tangible benefits for the local bodies which opt in.
