The VFM Profiles currently maintained by PSAA will now be provided via a new tool created by the LGA, called LG Inform VfM. The data and analysis previously available in the profiles have been transferred to the LG Inform suite of tools, and the LG Inform team will now be maintaining and updating the VFM Profiles. The new site is available from the following link: http://vfm.lginform.local.gov.uk/. The existing PSAA profiles site will continue to be available until December 2017, but the data will not be updated.
The consultation on the proposed auditor appointments from 2018/19 closed on 22 September. We received 442 responses from opted-in bodies confirming acceptance of the proposed appointment. On 14 August 2017 PSAA commenced the consultation process with opted-in bodies on their proposed auditor appointment for 2018/19. The consultation will run until 22 September 2017. PSAA has published a summary of the results of auditors’ work at NHS trusts and CCGs for 2016/17.
Local government and police bodies throughout England will pay reduced fees for audit services following the results of a highly successful procurement process undertaken by Public Sector Audit Appointments Ltd (PSAA). Aggregate savings are expected to exceed £6m per annum, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 18% in the scale fees payable by local bodies.
PSAA continues to be on track with its procurement of audit services for opted-in bodies. The mandatory standstill period commenced on 8 June 2017 and will run until midnight on 19 June 2017.
PSAA will consult on and confirm auditor appointments to opted-in bodies from 2018/19 between August and December 2017, following award of contracts to audit firms in June.
